What Should I look for?
You have a choice when finding the suit therapy center that is right for your child. Each center will have differences in their philosophies, their therapists' professional backgrounds and training, and their treatment style. Some things you may want to look for include the following:
- The clinic is founded and managed by therapists.
Innovative Children's Therapy was founded by therapists who both manage the clinic and treat the children. This allows us to make all our decisions based on the best possible treatment of our clients.
- Only licensed and trained therapists provide treatment.
Some clinics allow aids to treat your child. At our center, only highly trained and fully licensed therapists will ever treat your child.
- The therapists are all certified in the Therasuit™ Method of treatment.
All our therapists are formally trained by Izabela Koscielny, creator of the Therasuit™, and have received certification in the Therasuit™ Method and Universal Exercise Unit.
- The therapists are NDT trained.
Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) is a highly-effective method of treating children with cerebral palsy. We have both an OT and a PT who are Pediatric NDT Certified.
- The clinic has the equipment necessary to effectively treat your child.
We understand that parents make a large investment when they bring their child for suit therapy. We have equipment such as gait trainers, a LiteGait™, treadmill, parallel bars, stairs, adaptive bicycles, and much more. Please feel free to ask us about equipment which will meet the needs of your child.
- The clinic is in an area where the whole family can enjoy themselves.
Many families choose to make the whole three-week session, or a portion of the session, into a family vacation. We are located in Orlando, Florida, the vacation capital of the world! With either a morning or afternoon session, families have plenty of time each day to take advantage of all the fun Orlando has to offer. This is also a great reward for all the hard work your child is doing!
- Families have access to the Ronald McDonald House.
Lodging can sometimes be a significant expense over the three-week session. While we have made arrangements for local hotels to offer discounts to our families, we also have access to the local Ronald McDonald house so that families may take advantage of their very low-cost accommodations. Visit
www.rmhorlando.com to see their beautiful facility.
- The center works in conjunction with hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Many families have seen that suit therapy in conjunction with hyperbaric oxygen therapy has great benefits for their children. We are located in the same facility as Central Florida Hyperbaric O2 and we can schedule suit therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy together. For more information on hyperbaric oxygen, see their website at
